Named for the oak trees that once covered its hills (δρῦς = oak tree), the small village of Kato Drys southwest of Larnaca was pictured on the old Cyprus one pound note. At 520 metres, honey and lace are still produced, and about 130 people live here.
Adorning the Bride
Garden Kamara House
A 100-year-old stone house with an orchard behind it. Behind the arched doors is where the “Allamata” also known as “Zomata” takes place, the old Cypriot custom of adorning and blessing the bride, accompanied by violin and lute and the songs that go with each step.
